CAPTURING THE ZEITGEIST: On July 4, 2026, our nation will celebrate the 250th anniversary, of the Declaration of Independence — the perfect springboard to launch this series. The non-partisan federal Semiquincentennial commission has been planning major national programs for the historic event for several years. Today, nearly all fifty states and territories have established their own commissions for observing the anniversary.
